How to Make Lavender Ointment

Lavender ointment is almost like a medicine chest in a bottle. It's good for cuts, burns, scrapes and bruises and eases sore joints and muscles. It soothes and relaxes, and can even be used as a deodorant or lip gloss.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Lavender Ointment

  1. Step 1

    Melt the beeswax on the top of a double boiler with the burner turned on low.

  2. Step 2

    Beat the lavender essential oil into the melted beeswax.

  3. Step 3

    Allow the mixture to cool slightly and add the remaining essential oils.

  4. Step 4

    Pour the lavender ointment into a covered jar and label the jar.

  5. Step 5

    Store the lavender in the refrigerator and use it as needed.

  6. Lavender Ointment With Sandalwood

  7. Step 1

    Combine the olive oil or sweet almond oil with the lanolin, cocoa butter and beeswax. Heat the mixture on low heat in the top of a double boiler.

  8. Step 2

    Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the vitamin E oil, lavender essential oil and sandalwood essential oil. Beat the mixture until well blended.

  9. Step 3

    Pour the lavender ointment into small jars and allow it to cool. Cap the jars and label them.

  10. Step 4

    Use the lavender ointment as needed.
