Using garden gnomes with lights solves two problems at once as not only can you decorate your garden but you increase the visibility in your yard at night which makes for wonderful outside entertaining with a magical view. Find gnome night lights with some simple steps.

From Quick Guide: Decorating with Garden Gnomes
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look locally at your garden centers or hardware stores. You may not find an extensive collection to choose from as lighted gnomes are still introducing themselves to the market place. Buying in person is a much cheaper option as you save on expensive shipping costs, as most gnomes are solid and heavy to withstand the elements.

  2. Step 2

Search in "green energy" fairs or stores. Many of the lighted gnomes available use solar energy to power themselves at night and last several hours after the sun sets. These are a good option for the environmentally conscious and if you can display them in full light in your yard.

  3. Step 3

Go to a large superstore such as Wal-Mart and look in the electrical and outdoor novelty section. Several battery-powered gnomes available use alkaline batteries and light for a couple of months. Again, the selection may not be as extensive as you want and will probably include only the most common figures and templates but these are priced considerably cheaper than models from specialist vendors.

  4. Step 4

Order online only when you have exhausted all your local options or if you are looking for a very specific design. There is a huge variety available of both solar and battery powered gnomes from specialty stores, which can ship to you. Use online resources if you are trying to match a gnome with a light to some of your existing garden decorations.

Tips & Warnings
  • Save on shipping costs by using non priority ground shipping or the USPS "flat rate."
