Step 1
Hold auditions if you plan to get someone to come to your workplace or home gyms. Most personal trainers give a free initial consultation. Tell the trainer you have a group and would like to see her in action for 30 minutes or so. Get at least three different trainers to come in for auditions so you have a good selection from which to choose.

Step 2
Save money by hiring a fitness trainer in a group. Nearly all trainers give group discounts. They may have to deal with a few personal issues, but basically they are making more per hour by working with a group, so they will be especially motivated to give you good service.

Step 3
Get referrals from friends or colleagues or gym buddies to find a good group fitness trainer. Nothing is better than hearing a rousing appraisal from someone you know to be picky and demanding. A good trainer never advertises because they get enough business by word of mouth, so ask around.

Step 4
Keep your group on track with a personal trainer. It is easy to let control issues or personality conflicts arise in any group and end up sabotaging the goals of the group. You got together to support each other in a fitness regimen. Let the trainer be the boss and make sure everyone is on board with following the directions from the trainer.
