Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wooden box
  • Hardware
  • Branding tool or wire
  • Thin paintbrush
  • Paint or ink
  • Clear finish
  1. Step 1

Purchase a wooden box that serves your specific purpose. Perhaps it is a jewelry box or maybe a box to store larger items.

  2. Step 2

Buy the hardware for the box. You can find supplies online, including hardware, at Scorch's pyrography website.

  3. Step 3

Search for a pyrography craft kit, which are available at most craft stores. Select the kit that decorates as much as you want to learn how to do. Kits come complete with a branding tool to decorate on leather as well as wood.

  4. Step 4

Outline the chosen image onto the box with the branding tool. Lightly go over the outline with the color of your choice, using colorful ink or paint applied with a fine brush.

  5. Step 5

Allow the paint to dry and cover with a clear finish.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pyrography is an old craft. The more people who take up pyrography, the longer the craft survives.
