You can recycle and add a conversation piece to your yard or patio when you make birdbath end tables. Whether you use inexpensive plastic birdbaths or vintage stone birdbaths, this is a simple and inexpensive project.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Detergent
  • Stiff brush
  • Paint
  • Adhesive
  • Broken plates and tiles
  • Trowel
  • Grout
  • Rags
  • Colored stones or marbles
  • Artificial flowers and plants
  • MDF or glass
  • Saw
  • Router
  • Primer
  • Glossy paint
  • Outdoor varnish
  • Paintbrushes
  1. Step 1

Clean the birdbath with detergent and a stiff brush. Paint with plastic or concrete paint if desired.

  2. Step 2

Fill the bowl of the birdbath with colored stones, marbles or artificial flowers and plants. If the bowl is concrete, you can create a mosaic with broken plates and tiles.

  3. Step 3

Measure the open part of the birdbath. Get a piece of glass cut to a diameter slightly larger than the opening. Put the glass on top of the birdbath.

  4. Step 4

Cut a piece of MDF or plywood to the diameter of the opening if you want a wooden tabletop. Round the edges with a router. Cut scrap pieces of lumber into 4-inch strips.

  5. Step 5

Cover the wood with a coat of primer. Allow it to dry, then sand. Paint the tabletops with a layer of glossy paint.

  6. Step 6

Glue the scrap pieces of lumber to the bottom of the tabletop. Cover the table top with an outdoor varnish. Put the tabletop on top of the birdbath.
