- Peppermint essential oil

Rub a few drops of peppermint essential oil into your temples and on your chest to help stop a churning stomach. Allow the oil to absorb fully as you inhale the healing scent. Peppermint tea, tinctures and capsules can also help to soothe nausea.
Prevent motion sickness before it starts by soaking a handkerchief in a 50/50 solution of peppermint essential oil and water. Allow the handkerchief to dry and then keep it with you while riding in a car, flying or traveling by boat. When you begin to feel a bit motion sick or sea sick, hold the handkerchief over your mouth and nose, inhaling slowly and deeply. This is an effective treatment even for small children.
Massage full strength lavender essential oil onto your wrists to help reduce nausea. Lavender is one of the most versatile essential oils, and one of the few that can be used undiluted directly on the skin; however, lavender is often used to help speed childbirth and is not recommended for pregnant women, unless the long-awaited moment has finally come.
Enjoy a chamomile bath to help calm the nerves and soothe an upset stomach. Prepare a warm bath and add 20 drops of chamomile essential oil, soaking for at least 15 minutes. If desired, enjoy double the benefits of chamomile by sipping on a hot, honey sweetened cup of chamomile tea.
