how to use tea tree oil for candida

Candida, or fungal skin infections, are common after using antibiotics when the natural, healthy bacteria of the body is reduced significantly, allowing yeast to grow out of control. Common forms of candida include thrush, nail infections, yeast infections, jock itch and moist, itchy rashes. Tea tree oil, with powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties can help to clear-up candida naturally.

Treat the most common form of candida fungal infections, athlete's foot, by placing a bit of pure tea tree oil on a cotton ball and applying to affected areas one to three times daily to kill the infection. To prevent athlete's foot from returning, apply the oil to your feet after walking barefoot in any public place. Additionally, you can help to remove dead skin cells from your feet which harbor bacteria and fungus by mixing 4 or 5 drops of oil with a heaping tsp. of baking soda, massaging the feet and then rinsing thoroughly.

Use tea tree oil to help combat vaginal yeast infection, another common form of candida. Mix just 1 part oil with 20 parts pure, clean water and dampen a tampon in the solution. Keep the tampon in overnight, and repeat each night until your symptoms subside.

Get rid of nail fungus once and for all, maybe the most difficult form of candida to treat. Apply a generous amount of tea tree oil to the affected area three or four times daily, making sure to get under the nail, around the cuticles and over the top of the nail itself. For difficult infections, mix 1 part oil with 5 parts water and soak the nail for 10 minutes each day.

Soothe candida skin infections by soaking a cloth in a warm water solution of 1 part tea tree oil and 5 parts water. Apply to the affected area for 10 minutes, two or three times per week, diluting the solution if you experience irritation. For larger skin infections, add 15 drops of tea tree oil to a warm bath and soak for up to 15 minutes, two or three times weekly.

Clear away thrush, candida which occurs in the mouth and throat by making a tea tree oil gargle. Mix 3 or 4 drops of oil for every 2 tbsp. of water and gargle for 30 seconds, two or three times daily.

Warning

Systemic candida infection, affecting the intestinal tract, is a dangerous and potentially fatal condition which should be treated by a doctor. Tea tree oil should never be taken internally for any reason.
