Eyeglass covers also can protect your glasses or sunglasses from scratches and other damage. Make several covers to keep in your nightstand, your purse or your car. They are easy to sew, and you can make them out of fabric scraps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a piece of fabric for the outside of the case and one for the lining. Pick a soft fabric for the inside. Lay both pieces on top of a piece of quilt batting. Cut all three layers 8 inches by 9 inches.

  2. Step 2

Put the inside fabric right side down on a flat workspace. Top that with the quilt batting. Put the outside fabricon top with the right side facing out.

  3. Step 3

Hem the top end of the eyeglass cover by rolling the fabric over. Roll so that the outside fabric is folded over the inside. Stitch all the way across the top.

  4. Step 4

Fold all three layers together, with the outside fabric on the inside of the fold. Pin the layers, matching up the corners and the hem along the top of the eyeglass cover.

  5. Step 5

Stitch all the way around the eyeglass cover starting at the bottom corner. Back stitch at the top hem. Trim the seam allowance to get rid of any rough edges.

  6. Step 6

Turn the eyeglass cover right side out. It is now ready for you to use.
