Things You'll Need

  • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tsp. rose essence
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • Colored candy sprinkles or colored sugar (optional)
  • Miniature muffin cups

Instructions

    • 1

Place the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl and heat it in the microwave until it melts, about one to two minutes. The butter should melt to liquid form, but don't allow it to boil.

    • 2

Add the powdered milk, rose essence and condensed milk and stir until the ingredients are completely blended.

    • 3

Cook the peda in the microwave, uncovered, for three minutes. Take the peda out of the microwave and stir it thoroughly after each minute. It will be smoother each time you stir it.

    • 4

Allow the hot peda to cool slightly until it's cool enough to handle with your bare hands.

    • 5

Oil a large plate, or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.

    • 6

Oil your hands and form the peda into small balls approximately the size of a walnut. If you wish, dip the peda into some candy sprinkles or colored sugar. Flatten the peda slightly and place it on the oiled plate.

    • 7

Place the peda in the refrigerator to chill until firm, and then place each peda in a miniature muffin cup.

Tips & Warnings

  • Embellish the peda by putting a raisin, pistachio walnut chunk or cashew in the center of each peda.

  • If you don't have rose essence, it can safely be omitted.
