Whirlpool is a popular brand of appliance, but their appliances need repairing at times. It is important to know when you need to repair an appliance and what information and publications can help you make good repair decisions. If you find yourself in a jam, you can learn some easy tips to repair your Whirlpool appliances.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Owner's manual
Step1
Pull up the customer service section of the Whirlpool Web site. Type the name of the particular appliance that needs repair, such as "refrigerator," into the question box. Select the problem from the list given on the resulting page.
Step2
Review the questions and answers on the instructional page pertaining to that particular problem. Ask yourself each one to see if it could help correct the problem.
Step3
Look at the owner's manual. If you do not find it, seek one on the Appliance 411 Web site (see Resources below). They have most appliance owner's manuals available. See if you can find an owner's manual for your model.
Step4
Find the right question, and try the options for rectifying the problem. For example, if you have a refrigerator with an icemaker problem, it may have come from a power outage, a clog in the line or a totally unknown reason.
Step5
Try each of the varied options to fix the problem. If you are unable to repair the appliance yourself, call a certified Whirlpool technician to correct the problem.
