A nice floral centerpiece can be pretty expensive, if you don't have the know-how to create one yourself. Thankfully, with a little bit of creativity and a few supplies you can create a floral centerpiece that will offset your table beautifully and have your friends in awe. Just follow these steps to create a simple floral centerpiece yourself.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Short-stemmed flowers
  • Glass bowl
  • Votive candles
  • Water
  1. Step 1

Decide on a color scheme. Floral centerpieces are supposed to play off your other decorations, so pick colors that complement your tablecloth or your dishes. If you're having a seasonal party, pick out colors and textures that remind you of the season. Browns, reds and oranges work great for a fall centerpiece, while soft blues and whites look pretty on a winter table.

  2. Step 2

Scour your local florist or open market for the best looking flowers you can find. Stick with one or two different varieties that will hold together nicely.

  3. Step 3

Create your floral centerpiece right before your guests arrive so that it looks fresh and fabulous the entire evening.

  4. Step 4

Set up the foundation for a modern and clean simple centerpiece. Place a large glass bowl in the center of your table and fill it with water about half to three-quarters of the way full. Float a few votive candles in the water. Light them during your dinner party.

  5. Step 5

Arrange the cut flowers. Float a few short-stemmed flowers in the bowl along with the candles for a beautiful yet simple centerpiece.
