Start strength training. If you want to throw faster, you need to strengthen the muscles you use to throw a ball. Do exercises to work your arms, shoulders and legs. Exercises to try include bench presses, power lunges and push ups.

2
Learn how to properly throw a ball. Many people don't throw fast because they don't know the correct form to maintain. Separate your feet and turn your body as you throw the ball. You need to throw using your entire body, not just your arms.

Use a lighter grip. Many players mistakenly grip the ball too hard. If you use a light finger touch when throwing, you'll find the ball goes much faster.

4
Perform throwing drills. If you want to throw faster, take time to perform speed drills each day. One drill, scoop and throw, involves players grabbing balls from the ground and throwing them to the catcher as quickly as possible. You'll learn how to throw faster as well as develop better accuracy.
