Creating your own spa products is far less expensive than treating yourself to a day at the local spa; meaning you can pamper yourself far more often without the guilt of breaking your budget. The methods for making your own body treatments and spa supplies are endless; however, a few simple ideas can get you started.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice cubes
  • Fruit slices
  • Mineral water
  • Fine ground sea salt
  • Natural honey
  • Heavy cream
  • Fresh or dried herbs
  • Natural green clay powder
  • Essential oils (including jasmine)
  • Epsom salt
  • Extra virgin cold pressed olive oil
  1. Step 1

Mix up a batch of gourmet spa water before you begin. Simply add ice cubes and a few slices of your favorite fruits to a pitcher of cold mineral water. Sip your delicious water slowly as you pamper yourself to the max.

  2. Step 2

Start off your home spa treatment with a deep cleaning facial wash. Some of the most expensive spa supplies on the market are sea salt facial scrubs; however, the ingredients are readily available and inexpensive. Mix equal parts of fine ground sea salt, natural honey and heavy cream and massage gently into your face and neck. Rinse well with cool water.

  3. Step 3

Move right on to a refreshing and pore opening steam facial. Add some fresh or dried herbs, such as eucalyptus, chamomile or lavender, to a pot of water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and place yourself in the steam, draping a towel over your head for the full effect. Relax and enjoy for 5 to 10 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Apply a healing facial mask now that your pores are nicely opened. Combine 1 part natural green clay powder with 3 parts water and add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil for an authentic spa experience at home. Make sure that you apply the mask evenly to your face and neck and leave for 30 or 40 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Crawl into a hot tub, seasoned with your own skin healing ingredients. Add about 4 tbsp. of Epsom salt, 2 tbsp. of sea salt and 3 or 4 drops of your favorite essential oils. Soak and enjoy as your face mask dries.

  6. Step 6

Finish off your home spa treatment with a homemade skin moisturizer. Just add a single drop of jasmine essential oil to a few tbsp. of extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and massage into your skin to help prevent wrinkles, soothe irritation and prevent dry skin.
