Most dog owners have had to deal with a flea infestation at least once, and for some, discouraging the little pests is a constant battle. Make some natural and nutritious anti-flea biscuits and feed them to Fido. Your dog will love them, but the fleas won't.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup nutritional brewers yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup beef stock or chicken stock, low sodium
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 (100 IU) vitamin E capsule
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Mix the white flour, whole wheat flour, brewers yeast and salt in a medium mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

Combine the broth, vitamin E, salt, olive oil and garlic in a large mixing bowl and whisk it together thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

Add part of the flour mixture to the oil and garlic, stirring thoroughly. Add part of the broth and mix well. Alternate adding flour and broth, stirring well after each addition, until the dough forms a ball.

  5. Step 5

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut the dough into shapes with a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter.

  6. Step 6

Put the anti-flea biscuits on an oiled baking sheet and bake them until they are brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.

  7. Step 7

Turn the oven off, but leave the biscuits in the oven overnight so that they will harden. Store the anti-flea biscuits in the freezer or refrigerator.
