How to Join American Idol Chat Rooms

You and your classmates have already discussed American Idol to death and you want some fresh views on your favorite show. Or, you want to find out something about a singer from a former season. No problem, just visit a free American Idol chat room and research to your heart's content.

Straight From the Horse's Mouth

1. Join the American Idol community on the official American Idol webpage. On the lower left, click the link that says, "Join MyIDOL." On the next page click the "Get Started" link and follow the directions on the screen.

2. Read your choices for chats on various forums and click on the link of the one you find most appealing. Skim the subject headers to see what others are saying.

3. Let your voice be heard by clicking on "Post New Topic" or hitting "Reply" on other people's posts.

Unbiased Groups

4. Check out Chatmag's list of American Idol chat rooms not directly related to the American Idol official chat site. Notice that many of the chat rooms are part of Yahoo! Groups.

5. Go to the Yahoo! main page and select the link for "Groups." If you are new to Yahoo! Groups, click on the "Sign Up" link at the top of the page. Follow the directions on the pages.

6. Search for the American Idol chat room of your choice in the search box. Click the link that says, "Join This Group." Repeat Step 3 from Section 1.
