Macintosh users know how easy it is to take a screen shot. Four command keys allow them to save different areas of the screen to the clipboard or to a file. But they can't capture menus or cursors. Snapz Pro X gives users total control over the screen capture process.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Double-click on the Snapz Pro application icon. A new window will open allowing you to set up your screen shot and the general application settings.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Preferences" button to configure the general application settings. Set the command key you want to use to automatically call up Snapz. You can choose what application you want to use to open your files. Any files you save will automatically launch the file when you double-click on it.

  3. Step 3

Close the Snapz application window. From now on Snapz will open with the shortcut key, allowing you to keep your screen in exactly the condition you want to shoot.

  4. Step 4

Arrange your desktop or the application windows you want to shoot and type the Snapz shortcut. The Snapz interface will open automatically.

  5. Step 5

Choose your screen capture option button. You can shoot the entire screen, any open window, or select any area of the screen. You should also choose whether or not to save the image to the clipboard or to a file and the default file location. As soon as you click on your capture button you will see a small toolbar.

  6. Step 6

Set the finished image options with the toolbar. You can show or hide the cursor, add a border and choose the saved file format.

  7. Step 7

Click on the window you want to shoot or drag the selection marquee around the screen area you want to capture. Snapz will automatically save the screenshot to the location requested.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your keyboard shortcut may not open Snapz if Apple's Finder or another background application is also using it. Make sure to remove the command using System Preferences and the preferences of other software that runs in the background (note programs, window switching applications).
