Pick a hair color. Most people want to match their facial hair to the hair on their heads.

Mix a very small portion of the hair color to perform an allergy test. This is to ensure that you will not have an adverse reaction to the dye when it's applied to the facial hair. Choose a small patch of skin that will not be seen, such as the upper thigh or shoulder, and put the test dye on the skin. Leave the dye on the skin for about 48 hours. After that time, check for a reaction. If there is none, proceed to dying the facial hair.

Add together the ingredients for the rest of the dye from the package. Follow the directions closely to ensure that it is mixed correctly. Shake the resulting mixture to mix it thoroughly. This will make the color consistent.

Put on rubber or plastic gloves to protect your hands from the dye. Squirt a small amount of dye into the palm of one hand. Use the other hand to apply the dye to the facial hair. Coat all of the hairs evenly. Look over the facial hair to make sure you didn't miss any.

Leave the dye on for the exact time that is specified in the directions. Leaving it on too long can damage the hair. When the time is up, rinse off the dye in the shower. Use the conditioner provided in the package. Leave the conditioner on for at least two minutes before rinsing it off.
