How to Make a Beer Cover

If you have ever wanted to drink a beer, but were in a place where it wasn't appropriate to walk around holding a beer can, a beer can cover is what you needed. Whether you are hanging out with your mother-in-law who frowns upon beer or don't want your kids to know what you are drinking, learn how to make your own beer cover so you can enjoy your brew whenever and wherever you want.

Things You'll Need

  • Gloves (optional)
  • Can opener
  • Scissors or tin snips
  • Metal file
  • Can of soda
  • Can of beer
  • Grasp the stay tab and pull it forward to remove it from your soda can and pour out the contents.

  • Use a can opener to remove the top of the soda can.

  • Turn the can over and use your can opener to remove the bottom of the soda can.

  • Remove the entire silver portion on the bottom of the soda can by cutting it with sharp scissors or tin snips. The can should sit flat when you are done.

  • Cut a straight line all the way up the length of the soda can.

  • File the edges of the cut you just made until smooth. Be careful when handling the can as the aluminum can cut you.

  • Roll the soda can in to as tight of a cylinder as possible to regain it's shape.

  • Unroll the soda can and wrap it around a can of beer and no one will know that you're not drinking a soda.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove the soda can "label" and save it for future use, when you've finished drinking your beer.
  • Wear gloves for hand protection while creating your beer can cover.
  • Do not use a beer can cover for illegal alcohol consumption. Obey the law and drink responsibly.
