How to Make Boogers on a Stick for Halloween

Adults may get squeamish, but most kids love to be grossed out, and the yuckier, the better. On Halloween, have some fun grossing out your kids with some truly icky boogers on a stick and then sit back and listen to all the delighted comments. Believe it or not, they're actually delicious, if you can get past the yuck factor.

    Things You'll Need

    • 1 jar of processed cheese
    • 1 bag of pretzel sticks
    • Green food coloring
    • 1 spoon with a long handle
    • Waxed paper

Place the jar of processed cheese in a pot of boiling water until it's melted and smooth. You can also place the jar, without the lid, in the microwave oven. Let the jar of processed cheese cool slightly before proceeding.

Drop a few drops of green food coloring into the cheese and stir it with a long-handled spoon. Don't add too much food coloring, but just enough to color the cheese a lovely snotty green.

Dip the end of a pretzel into the cheese, and give it a twist to form a booger. Let the cheese set up for a few seconds, and repeat dipping the pretzel until the booger is the desired size.

Lay the boogers on a stick on a piece of waxed paper and allow them to set up for a few minutes before serving.

    Tips & Warnings

    • If the boogers on a stick aren't sufficiently icky, serve them with a bowl of red salsa to add an extra yuck factor.
