Choose two colors. Asian women can pull off most colors due to their dark hair. Try offsetting the color of your natural undertones, to compliment your face. If your undertones are golden, go with tones that are more pink and avoid yellows and greens. If your undertones are pink, go with tones that are more golden and avoid pinks and reds. If you want to be completely safe, stick with neutral colors such as beige, brown, chocolate or taupe. The darker eye shadow needs to be two or three shades darker than the lighter color.

Prepare your eyes with foundation. Before you put on your eye shadow, apply a base that helps minimize fine lines and dark circles. Blend the foundation into your eyelid completely using gentle, circular strokes. Dust your eyelids with translucent powder along with an eye primer. This makes blending your eye shadow much easier and helps it last longer.

Apply the lighter color. A dark color used all over the lid makes Asian eyes look smaller. Dust on the light-colored eye shadow with a shading brush. Cover the entire surface of each eyelid from your eyelash line to your brow bone. Blend in the eye shadow with the blending brush until it appears smooth and even.

Put on the darker color. Apply the dark colored eye shadow to the crease of your eye. This gives Asian eyes the illusion of a crease. Start at the inside of the crease and work your way out. Blend it with your blending brush until the crease appears smooth and even. The appearance of a line looks unnatural. Proper blending is the key. Blend until your eyes have an almost airbrushed appearance.

Finish off the eyes with black eyeliner and black mascara. This adds more dimension to the eyes' shading and makes thinner Asian eyes more noticeable.
