Almost everyone watches the big blockbuster movies with the big budgets and huge stars, but sometimes a person can, through no fault of his own, watch a bad straight to DVD horror movie. These movies can test all logic and patience, but like a car wreck, it can be hard to look away. There are ways to avoid watching bad straight to DVD horror movies and never falling prey to their awfulness.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Pay no attention to the cover of the DVD horror movie. To make up for just how bad the movie is, the makers of the film will compensate with a great looking DVD cover. Usually, the cooler looking the cover is the worse the movie.
Step2
Realize that just because there are excellent horror movie actors on the cover does not necessarily mean they are the stars of the movie. A common tactic used by these moviemakers is to give a well-known actor a very small role in the film but feature them as if they were the stars. Then you watch the movie expecting to see your favorite actor and they are on the screen sixty seconds longer than a dead man is.
Step3
Avoid any straight to DVD horror movie with many stars in the movie. You will look at the cover and think; wow with all these good actors this can't possibly be awful. However, if you step back and think about it you will realize that if was so good; why did it do straight to DVD and you have never heard of it.
Step4
Discount any promotional material, like blurbs, on the DVD cover. Any movie can find someone who will say something nice about the movie and some moviemakers even pay people to write them glowing reviews just for the DVD cover.
