Things You'll Need:
- Tarte cheek stain gel stick
- Mild facial cleanser
- Light facial moisturizer
- Makeup sponge (optional)
-
Step 1
Choose a color that works for your skin tone. As a general rule, paler skins should keep to a rosy hue. The darker your skin tone, the more bronze you can go. Remember that the goal of tarte cheek stain application is a perfectly natural look, even on oily skin.
-
Step 2
Wash your face with a mild cleanser and apply a light moisturizer before you apply your cheek stain. If you use liquid foundation, it should be well worked into the skin before application as well; however, fresh coats of powdered foundations should go on top of your cheek color.
-
Step 3
Push up the gel stick and smile as you lightly apply a line to the apples of your cheeks. Use your fingertips or a makeup sponge to blend the color into your cheeks, using small circular motions as you work up the cheek bones.
-
Step 4
Get creative and use more than one color of cheek stain, blending for a more intense hue. While tarte cheek stain is made to last all day without irritating your skin or causing acne, if you so choose, you can reapply the blush gel stick anytime you like throughout the day.
