How to Create a Visor for Visorless Full-Face Helmets
You bought your motorcycle helmet and are ready to venture into the great wide open. But you notice that your full-face helmet doesn't have a visor, and you really want one to keep the bugs and dirt out of your face, as well as protect you if you fall. All you need to create your visor are a few items and tools that are probably lying around your house.
Things You'll Need
- Helmet
- Clear plastic sheet
- Permanent marker
- Scissors
- Knife or razor blade
- Double-sided tape

1
Measure the space on the helmet where your piece of plastic should fit, and mark the plastic sheet with a permanent marker. A plastic pop bottle would work well, but just make sure to completely remove the label from the outside. If you use the bottle, cut the seam with scissors, and then lay the plastic rectangle flat to create your visor's outline.

2
Use a sharp knife or a razor blade to cut the plastic. Make the plastic piece a little larger than the area you want to cover on the helmet. You can always cut more plastic, but you can't add plastic back on.

3
Cut long strips of double-sided tape to secure the visor. You want the tape to be hidden from the outside. If needed, place the plastic up to the visor, mark where the visor should be and then apply the tape.

4
Insert the plastic into the helmet, and you're ready to ride. Depending on what type of plastic you choose, it may scratch easily. If this happens, you may need to change the plastic every so often.

Tips & Warnings
Some manufacturers want you to buy a visorless helmet and one with a visor, but you can purchase the visorless one and add the visor. It's best to be fully covered when riding.
Stay away from tinted plastic unless you plan on only riding your motorcycle during the day. Wearing tinted plastic at night makes it difficult to see the road as well as oncoming traffic.
