How to Make Cookie Ghost Puppets for Halloween

It's Halloween, and that means it's time to have some fun. One good way is with some adorable Halloween cookie ghost puppets. Make some easy sugar cookies and let your kids help you create spooky ghost faces. Let them stage a Halloween puppet show before the delicious cookie ghosts mysteriously disappear.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract.
  • Ghost shaped cookie cutter
  • Popsicle sticks
  • White frosting
  • Assorted candies
  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    Mix the powdered sugar, flour, baking soda and cream of tartar in a medium mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in the eggs, melted butter and pure vanilla extract and mix until the ingredients are well blended. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator to chill for at least an hour.

  4. Step 4

    Flour your working surface and roll the cookie dough to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut the dough into shapes with a ghost shaped cookie cutter. Place a Popsicle stick into each cookie.

  5. Step 5

    Arrange the cookies on greased baking sheets. Bake them for 6 to 8 minutes. Remove the baking sheets from the oven. Let the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, and then put them on wire racks to finishing cooling.

  6. Step 6

    Spread each cookie with white frosting, and press assorted candies into the frosting to create faces.
