Step 1
Take two decks of playing cards in which the backs of one set are different than the backs of the other. Such cards usually come in red or blue, but any two colors should work as long as they are noticeably different.
-
Step 2
Remove one card from the blue deck and see which card it is (like the seven of clubs). Place this card in the red deck, 10 cards from the top of the deck.
-
Step 3
Find the matching card in the red deck and place it near the middle of the deck. Mark its place with your pinky finger in back of the deck while holding the deck in your hand.
-
Step 1
Force the marked red card out of the deck with your fingers toward your spectator. Have him see it and place it back in the middle. Use the double undercut move to bring that card to the top.
-
Step 2
Spread the deck and find the blue card. Announce that the spectator's card has changed colors. Remove the blue card and have him look at it.
-
Step 3
Use your pinky again to mark the red card on top of the deck. Have the spectator return his (blue) card and place it on top of the deck. Flip both cards up together.
-
Step 4
Peel the red card off the top of the deck and turn the deck over at the same time. Make sure the spectator doesn't see the duplicate blue card on top of the deck or the back of the red card.
-
Step 5
Flip the card on the deck bottom (which is now face up in your hand) so it's now face down. Place the "trick card" in your other hand face up on the deck and bend those two cards together (as if you're imprinting the red back on the card).
-
Step 6
Show that the card at the very top of your hand (which is the one the spectator drew at the beginning) is red again. While he's looking at it, slip the blue card (which is at the bottom of your hand) out of the deck.
