Everyone wants a good deal and for some it's very hard to negotiate a service fee. Remember this is not personal, negotiating for a better fee it is just business.

From Quick Guide: Tax Attorneys 101
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider your relationship with the lawyer and ask for a loyalty discount. If you are someone who has referred other customers, who brings organized documents and pays bills quickly you can ask for at least a 10% discount. If you were referred by a friend or family members ask to receive the same treatment as they do, including price discounts.

  2. Step 2

Offer barter as a form of payment. If you perform a service your lawyer might need such as website design services, legal secretarial services or receptionist work, offer your services as a form of payment.

  3. Step 3

Bring your case when it's best for the lawyer's schedule. If you bring your case as soon as possible, you can make the work easier for your lawyer and benefit the argumentation of your case.
