This is how I brush my teeth to keep from stopping at the dental office so often. Being that I have a couple of out of place teeth, I need to be more precise with my cleaning.
First use the anti-plaque dental rinse--I get mine from Wal-Mart or Dollar Tree. Use this as directed on the bottle.
Step2
Put water on the toothbrush and a squirt of toothpaste. Brush as normal or as directed by the dentist. Make sure to brush areas by the gumline well. After brushing, rinsing once with water from the faucet may help.
Step3
Here's the fun part--well more like the part that a person must have patience with. First, use a flosser or two to floss between teeth well. Then use the sharp end to scrape all the teeth especially the front ones. Likely, there will be a white substance coming off with the scraping. That is good because it gets rid of what might cause dental problems otherwise. Rinse the flosser off when it becomes loaded with the white substance and keep on until no more comes off. Make sure to scrape around the gumline as well, being careful not to poke the gums. (This is especially useful after eating starchy foods).
Step4
After done scraping the teeth, rinse the mouth out with anti-cavity mouthwash such as Act or the Equate version. Your teeth should be clean and likely feel cleaner than normal. Do this process at least once daily.
Tips & Warnings
Doing this in front of the bathroom mirror helps with the process.
Sometimes I cough at night if I use both mouthwashes. You aren't supposed to drink water after the anti-cavity rinse due to the fact it might deteriorate the effects, but do so if it is necessary. If coughing lasts too long, use just one mouthwash.
