Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Watch movies like, "The Incredible Journey." Imagine yourself inside of your self.
Step2
If you're diagnosed with a mental illness, accept the fact that there is probably some underlying physical factor related to it, even if nobody has ever identified it.
Step3
Whether physical or mental (or both), do your best to find an objective source, even if it's just one other human being. This can be quite curing, no matter how "strange" this may strike you at present.
Step4
THE HARDEST PART FOR MANY: Remember that whoever treats you is a person, just as you are. We are all in this together. I'm a philosopher. You may be a house-keeper. It's a difference that makes a difference, but when you need to heal, those differences fade and all that matters is that you have placed yourself into the hands of a person who has been trained to help you. Trust. Is that hard for you? It is for me as a tall, white male. But it is essential. There are more caring people around us than we care (ha) to imagine. So trust.

on 5/30/2008 Once upon a time, a wise person told me that the answer to all that ails us is within ourselves. Sometimes we just need the guidance of someone else to lead us to the answers that we hold.
