How to Find a Cargo Bicycle

All over the planet people make good use of the bicycle. In Asian and African countries, for example, you can see some pretty incredible loads on bicycles. What with the price of oil going sky high, bicycle usage is bound to increase in most western nations too. One of the main things people need, to make a bicycle a truly viable option for transportation, is the ability to carry things. That's where the work or cargo bicycle comes in.

1. If you do decide to buy a work bicycle, it is sometimes difficult to locate one. They aren't yet found in every bicycle shop, and most bicycle manufacturers don't make cargo bicycles yet. Perhaps more will as oil prices go up and the demand for working bicycles increases.

2. People can and do make their own cargo bicycles, and if you can't get a working bicycle in any other way, you might try to make your own cargo bicycle too.
   
   There are a few plans online for making your own cargo bicycle, so if you are wanting to make your own, or can't find or afford to buy a cargo bicycle, then do a quick internet search for building cargo or work bicycles (with plans or projects), until you find a plan or project for making your own cargo bicycle.
3. Once you've located a source for a cargo bicycle, try to go see them in person, or at least get some pictures. There are many different kinds of cargo bicycles out there, and none of them would work for every need, or desired use.
4. Make full use of your cargo bicycle once you've purchased (or made) one. Groceries can be ferried home with your bike, you can take your packages to the post office, do your Christmas or other shopping, and then bring it home. And any other possible load or use that you might imagine.
