How to Make Full-Face CD Labels

Full-face CD labels are the best way to add a personal touch to any writable CD. These labels are relatively easy to make with the proper materials purchased at your local computer supply store. A full-face CD label can be as dramatic or subtle as you'd like, depending on personal preferences.

Difficulty: Easy

1. Design full-face CD labels on the computer after appropriate software from a company, such as Acoustica (see resources), has been installed on the home computer. The design of the label is up to the user and can be words, pictures or any combination of the two.
2. Use an online source for your full-face CD labels. Visit Online Labels (see Additional Resources) where you can download design templates after your choose the size label you need.
3. Print the full-face CD label after the design is complete. The best results will be achieved if an ink jet or laser printer is used. This will ensure that colors are vibrant and that the ink does not smear.
4. Peel labels off of the adhesive sheet. Make sure the ink is dry before doing this so the design is not smudged.
5. Place the CD label on the sponge disc provided. Place the CD face-side down onto the adhesive side of the label. The sponge helps to ensure the label and CD are lined up properly.
6. Press down on the center of the CD, making sure not to touch the recordable part of the CD. Pressing down will adhere the label to the CD properly.

• Add names of songs on the CD label if it is a mixture of artists.
• Purchase labels that provide free slim jewel cases to protect your CD.
• Don't place the label on sponge disc until the ink is completely dry to avoid smears and smudges.
