Everyone once in a while gets into arguments. It's human nature. But there are ways to avoid an argument, especially when the are petty.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    When communicating the conversations can either be positive or negative. Sometimes it's inevitable that a conversation will turn sour and turn into an argument.

  2. Step 2

    There are ways to avoid an argument.

  3. Step 3

    Try changing the subject, this may help but it depends how heated the conversation is getting and or how petty or serious the topic is.

  4. Step 4

    Agree to disagree. This is better than going around and round with the discussion where you are only getting more upset.

  5. Step 5

    Listening is important. Be sure to not twist someone's words or take things the wrong way.

  6. Step 6

    Don't pick a fight or an argument. Majority of people today find the need to purposely start an argument which makes no sense and doesn't resolve anything.

  7. Step 7

    If it's an authority figure over you, be careful in not starting an argument. Talk it out but avoid taking the argumentative turn.

Tips & Warnings
  • Arguing and fighting are two separate things, be sure to get anger management if you feel you have a problem with your temper.
