How to Help Your Child Succeed in School
As a parent, you know that if your child does well in school, he or she will have a great head start in life. And as a parent, you want to do whatever you can to help your child succeed. There are several things that you can do to help your child be successful in school.

1
Read with your child, starting at a young age and continuing even after they are able to read on their own. Your child will learn to enjoy reading, which will help them have a larger vocabulary and better overall study skills.
-
2
Make sure your child has the tools they need to complete their schoolwork. Keep a supply of paper, pens and pencils, and other commonly required items such as glue and posterboard.
-
-
3
Get involved with your child's school. Volunteer to help in the classroom or on field trips, attend PTA meetings, or work at the annual carnival. By becoming involved you are showing your child that school is important to you.
-
4
Introduce yourself to your child's teacher and attend any and all parent-teacher conferences. Your child's teacher might have insights that you may not be aware of.
-
5
Be available to help your child with any homework. Even if your child doesn't require your assistance, be present. This lets your child know that they can come to you for help, and that it matters to you.
