Get on the internet and set up an email account, perhaps yahoo or gmail.

From your old computer, email all data that you want to save to this email account. Absolutely anything. Although, I don't know if it works with music, because I haven't tried that. I did all my pictures and documents, etc.
Step3
Once you get your new computer, log onto the internet and go to the email account you set up. Now download all your data to your new computer. Ta da!
Step4
I use an email account to store all my spreadsheets instead of using up space on my computer! I also use another for pictures!
