Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Investigate the wide variety of metallic frames. Consider that metallic frames come in all colors as well as metallic finishes such as chrome and bronze. Pick a color or tone that can be found in the piece that your framing.

  2. Step 2

Pick a finish that will be harmonious with both the work and the room where it will hang. Some metallic frames are brushed and therefore more matte in their appearance while others have a high polish. Frames with a high polish will bring with them a reflective element.

  3. Step 3

Relate the size of the frame to the type of work you are framing. Choose a thinner frame for delicate images and a thicker one for more powerful images.

  4. Step 4

Combine a wood frame with a metallic frame for a unique look. A thin metallic frame can be placed inside a thicker wood frame and vice versa.

Tips & Warnings
  • When the framed work will need to be covered by glass, select non-reflective glass to lessen the overall reflective quality of a polished metallic frame.
