Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Broccoli
  • Large kitchen knife
  • Pot
  • Strainer
  • Cutting board
  1. Step 1

Take some broccoli out of the fridge and place it on a cutting board. It is always good to prepare vegetables on a cutting board so you do not damage your counter tops. Get a large kitchen knife and lay it down on the cutting board.

  2. Step 2

Take a strainer and wash your broccoli off thoroughly. Allow it to dry off in the strainer and then place the broccoli back on the cutting board. It is always a good idea to clean your broccoli and any other vegetables.

  3. Step 3

Take your kitchen knife and cut off the top of the broccoli into florets. Cut two large pieces of broccoli into many pieces so there will be enough to compliment your salmon dish.

  4. Step 4

Save the stems of the broccoli to put in a soup or stew at a later time. Chop the stems into smaller pieces than the florets, since the stems can be tougher. All parts of the broccoli are healthy for you to eat.

  5. Step 5

Place your broccoli florets into a pot with 1.5 inches of water. The broccoli will only take about ten minutes to cook, so it is a good idea to keep an eye on it. Your broccoli should look bright green in color, but still be tender. Once steamed, you can serve it along with your salmon dish.
