Adding a part for curling short hair gives the hairstyle an added dimension and the part provides a secondary focal point for people to look at. Curling short hair around a part can easily be accomplished without a professional stylist by using a few short hair styling tips.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use a tail comb and zig zag it from back to front to create a jagged, roughed-in part. The part line becomes the baseline from which to work to create the part.

  2. Step 2

Divide the hair into two sections along the rough part line. These sections of short hair will create the definitive segments for curling.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the sections of hair along the part line with clear rubber bands. The rubber bands will hold down the curly short hair. These are supposed to stay in the hair and become part of the hairstyle. They should remain more or less hidden.

  4. Step 4

Allow loose locks, or tendrils, of hair to hang down and create an untamed look for the short hair style. The tendrils will come out on their own, so it is best to incorporate them into the style as much as possible.

  5. Step 5

Define the part area as precisely as necessary. The part can be established as a perfectly straight line from front to back, or allowed to flow in a more organic way. The short hair part adds control to the otherwise wild curly hairstyle.
