Poser is a 3D Figure Design and Animation software package. With it, artists easily create photo realistic images and animations. Poser's Walk Designer includes seven different walk styles. Artists blend the styles together creating a unique walk for their characters.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open Poser and create your character adding morphs, hair and clothing. Save your file and your character in the Figures section of the Library. You can use the characters in the Library in multi-figure scenes, but saving a character file preserves the character only for this scene.

  2. Step 2

Click "Select Camera" in the upper left hand side of the screen. Choose the "From Top" Camera. Use the parameter dials to move the camera further away from your character.

  3. Step 3

Select "Create Walk Path" from the Figure Menu. If necessary, continue adjusting the "From Top" camera. Click next to the Walk Path and drag it to a new location. The entire path moves. To adjust a walk's start or ending, select and drag either the path's first or last node. Selecting and dragging a node changes the walk path. Click anywhere on the line to add a new node.

  4. Step 4

Choose "Walk Designer" from the Windows Menu. Click "Apply" and choose "Follow Path." Select "OK" to close window. Close the Walk Designer and select the tab on the bottom of the screen to bring up the Animation Controls.

  5. Step 5

Play your animation. Stop at any section where the character moves incorrectly. Click and drag the animation control to slowly rewind the movie. Use the parameter dials to adjust the character's pose. Change the camera, angle or position and adjust the lighting. These changes will gradually come into your walk animation in the prior key frames.

  6. Step 6

Continue to review and adjust your walk path.
