Step 1
Roll your tire over the hub. Your vehicle should still be raised at this point, otherwise you will not be able to get the tire back on. Lift the tire and line the holes up placing the hub posts through them. The best way to do this is by sitting in front of the hub, which takes the weight off your back.
-
Step 2
Hold the tire on with a foot or hand while you gather the lug nuts. Start the lug nuts, in no particular pattern, and get them all on slightly. Use the four-way to snug them down via the star method, which is named for the star shape you make during the process.
-
Step 3
Start at the lower left lug nut and snug it all the way down. Next go to the middle top lug nut and tighten it, then the bottom right lug nut, the top left lug nut and the top right lug nut. Once these are all snug, you can lower the vehicle by turning the release screw on the jack.

Step 4
Use a torque wrench to torque the lug nuts on. Check your vehicle's repair or owner's manual for the proper torquing specifications. The torquing specifications may differ by make, model and year of your truck.
