Step 1
Follow any articles done on you or your team and keep several copies of those articles for your files. This shows perspective sponsors your background and the type of person you are.
-
Step 2
Do interviews whenever possible, including magazines, on radio and on television. Interviews are a great way to get your name out there and show potential sponsors your team.
-
Step 3
Tell sponsors what you have to offer them by showing them why you'd be a good fit for their company. Explain what makes you unique and sets you apart from the other drivers angling for their business.
-
Step 4
Seek out sponsors that you actually use and like in real life and away from the track. If you use a specific product, try calling that company. The more you truly like a company or product, the easier it will be to promote their products.
-
Step 5
Contact local companies and businesses because they're more likely to support you in the early days. Once you have a little more experience and exposure, you can start looking at larger companies.
-
Step 6
Track down possible leads. When a company asks you to call or check back later, make sure you do it.
-
Step 7
Update your contact information to include cell phones and business lines. The last thing you want is to have a sponsor leave because they can't reach you.
