Step1
Avoid using your tail to stop. This will be a great way to avoid breaking the tail of your board. By using the tail to stop, you risk cracking it and causing the layers of wood of which the board's composed begin to peel.
Step2
Try not to use the nose of the skateboard to stop for the same reasons as the tail. This helps to avoid breaking the nose of the skateboard, thus extending the life of your board.
Step3
Peel away any chipped edges. If the board's cracked or has a jagged edge, you can cover it with duct tape or some other strong tape. This will help keep the board from peeling apart even more and help to extend the life of your board.
Step4
Keep away from sharp or immovable objects with your skateboard. This will help you avoid breaking the nose and the tail of your skateboard. The skateboard's not meant to careen into immovable objects.
