The half cab is a cool skateboarding trick, and it takes a bit to learn; but boy, it's worth it. One key about the half cab is turning all the way around. An important aspect of this is doing rotations of your shoulders, thereby creating the momentum needed to turn you around.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Work on your pop so you've got that down when you're doing the half cab, and slide that front foot forward at just the right moment. Now it's time to focus on your shoulders.

  2. Step 2

Get some counter-rotation with your shoulders. If you are going to turning to the right as you're doing a half cab, wind up your shoulders to the left.

  3. Step 3

Rotate your shoulders back in the direction as you are going to spin.

  4. Step 4

Suck up or pick up your feet when you're shoulders are almost facing front, and get that board off the ground as you continue rotating your shoulders to the right.

  5. Step 5

Continue the rotation of the half cab while you're in the air so that when you'll land, you will face the other direction with your body.

  6. Step 6

Practice rotating your shoulders for a half cab until you are able to do the move smoothly, and land it consistently every time. You may not make it all the way around at first, but with time and practice, you'll soon spin all the way around.
