Landing a half cab is arguably the most important part of the skateboard trick. Hear are some helpful pointers on landing a half cab.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Work on all the steps leading up to the landing of the half cab. Make sure you have good pop ups and you slide your front foot up. Turn your shoulders enough so that you get the necessary momentum to turn around, and you lift or suck up your feet high enough to allow you to clear the ground enough to turn.
Step2
Concentrate on your foot position when you land a half cab. You need to make sure that when you finish the half cab, your feet are on the bolts. Your back foot should be on the back bolts and your front foot should be on the front bolts. If your feet are not on the bolts, you could break your board — especially if you do a half cab off a flight of steps.
Step3
Make sure you do not land on the tail or the nose. If you land on either, there is a good chance that not only could you break the nose or tail, you could very well part company with your board in a very abrupt manner.
Step4
Bend your knees when you land a half cab. By bending your knees, you help your body absorb the impact of the jump. This also helps you to land cleanly, which means you can roll away from half cab looking cool.
