Google Reader is an easy way to keep all of your favorite web feeds in one place, and by installing Google Reader on a cell phone with a compatible web browser you can take those web feeds with you wherever you go. Never miss an update from any of your favorite websites.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check your cell phone for a web browser; then check to see if that browser is XHTML complaint. That is the only way Google Reader will work.

  2. Step 2

Go to your phone's browser settings and enable cookies on your cell phone to allow Google Reader to mark your favorite sites and feeds and access them later.

  3. Step 3

Set the secure SSL settings through your phone's browser settings.

  4. Step 4

Type the following web address into your phone's web browser: reader.google.com. This should bring up a mobile web version of the Google Reader you're used to seeing on your regular computer.

  5. Step 5

Check out the list of feeds and stories on the Google Reader. They should match the same subscriptions you get on your standard computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • To determine whether your phone's browser is XHTML compliant, type the following web address into your phone's browser: www.google.com/xhtml. If the screen comes up, your browser is compliant.
  • You might have to log in to Google to be able to see your feeds on Google Reader. This is a quick process that you can do similar to text messaging. Just use the same log in that you would use when logging on to Google on a standard computer.
