Things You'll Need:
- Edge sander
- Air compressor
- Cloths
-
Step 1
Spray the entire exterior of the edge sander with compressed air. This means turning on an air compressor and using the hose to blow surface dirt off of the machine. Use short blasts of air for a thorough cleaning.
-
Step 2
Use a cloth of rag to wipe the exterior surface of the machine removing any remaining dirt and dust from the surface. Be sure the cloth is clean and slightly damp for the most effective results.
-
Step 3
Remove the safety switch from the center of the power button on the machine. Although not essential for cleaning machine, ensuring the machine is safe until the next project is a must. Store the switch in an easily accessible place you won't forget.
-
Step 4
Cover the edge sander with a large drop cloth to prevent it getting dirty between projects. An old sheet or curtain works well for these so don't waste money on fancy covers. Be sure to tuck the edges underneath to prevent dust from getting in.
-
Step 5
Store edge sander in a cool dry environment such as a garage or wood shop.
-
Step 6
Blast a little compressed air over the machine after uncovering to ensure any tricky dust or debris has not crept under the cloth.
