Spinners are a type of firework that spins up in the air making different noises and visual displays depending upon the type of spinner you purchase. The following will show you how to shoot a spinner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a flat, smooth area to lay your spinner on. Make sure it is away from people, power lines, pets and anything flammable or that can be damaged by the fireworks.

  2. Step 2

Light a match or lighter and touch the flame to the tip of a lighter stick, also sometimes referred to as a "puck lighter" until the tip of the lighter stick turns red. After it is lit, the lighter stick will be usable for about 20 minutes or so.

  3. Step 3

Pull the fuse away from the spinner so it can easily be lit.

  4. Step 4

Touch the lighter stick to the fuse on your spinner until you see that the fuse is lit. Make sure you light it at arms length to prevent injury.

  5. Step 5

Get away from the spinner once the fuse has ignited. Stand back at a safe distance and watch your spinner shoot into the air.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to ask for lighter sticks when purchasing your fireworks. Typically, lighter sticks are free, but you must ask for them. Lighter sticks make it easier to light your fireworks at arms length.
  • Be sure to read all warning and safety labels on your fireworks before lighting them.
  • Keep all pets chained up when lighting fireworks to prevent damage to your pets.
  • Children aged 14 and under should not light any fireworks unless supervised by an adult.
  • Every state has its own laws regarding fireworks. Check your state's laws before shooting spinners or any other fireworks.
