An RC chopper isn't a motorcycle like many people think, but rather a radio control helicopter. These are available online and from local hobby stores. The chopper looks exactly the same as a full size helicopter, though in a smaller size. When choosing RC chopper parts, make a list of the parts you need and get ready to shop around.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check your local hobby store for affordable RC chopper replacement parts. You can find a number of different pieces there and many are fairly cheap.

  2. Step 2

Shop online to save money on chopper parts. There are many reputable RC car and hobby stores online that specialize in radio control helicopters.

  3. Step 3

Purchase the right tools to fix the helicopter when a crash does happen. Even the best hobbyists sometimes crash their chopper and having the right tools on hand can help you make fast repairs.

  4. Step 4

Buy in bulk when you see a bargain on accessories or parts or when your hobby store runs a sale. You can store this for a rainy day and save money in the process.

  5. Step 5

Look in the local hardware store to find parts. Smaller screws and nails can be expensive when purchased from a hobby store, but the same parts are available from the hardware store.

  6. Step 6

Pick up the right parts for your helicopter. Look on the packaging to ensure that the parts fit your chopper as many hobby stores don't allow returns on opened packages.

  7. Step 7

Ask a professional for help, especially if you purchased the chopper used. You'll need to know the class, parts used and parts required before making a purchase.
