Bon Appetite is a poker variation similar to seven card stud. The game utilizes a high-low split and allows you to muck a card and get a new one to make the best seven-card hand possible.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get two or more players together and deal out seven cards, four cards face up and three cards face down.

  2. Step 2

Look at your cards and determine whether you are attempting to win the high or the low hand since both are winners in this game.

  3. Step 3

Bet according to the cards in your hand. If you think you can make the best high or low hand bet up the pot.

  4. Step 4

Determine if you want to trade cards and obtain a "shock" card that could make your hand better. If you choose to trade a face-up card, your new card will come face-up. If you choose to trade a face-down card, your new card will be hidden from others at the table.

  5. Step 5

Declare whether you're going for the high hand, low hand or both by grabbing three chips off your stack, placing them in your hand and hiding them under the table. If you're going for the high hand, show the table one chip. Show no chips for the low hand and show two for going both ways.

  6. Step 6

Turn over your hand and watch the other players turn over their hands to determine the winner. A player only wins if he correctly indicated that he would win the high or low pot with his number of chips.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you decide to show two chips, or win both the high and low hand, you have to win both to get the pot. If you're beaten or tied on either hand, then you lose everything.
  • This game is a home game and not available in any casino yet.
