How to Get a Man to Share His Feelings
Men seem to be closed books most of the time, and it can feel like grunt work trying to get your man to share his feelings. It doesn't have to be this way. And actually, by changing your techniques, it can be somewhat easier.

1
Talk to him when he is busy. This can help him to feel more open and less like being cornered by you and your questions.
-
2
Avoid eye contact while trying to get your man to talk about his feelings. It can make the conversations feel more casual if he is busy, or you both are, and you aren't staring him down. When you avoid eye contact, he won't feel as though you are memorizing and critiquing every word, even if you actually are.

3
Show him that you approve of his opinions and judgments. Judging him or condemning him for his thoughts only makes him feel picked on, and he'll clam up.
-
4
Tell him that you appreciate his conversations and that you are his friend, as well as his lover. Men need to feel appreciated, and when his needs are met, you are more likely to get him to open up.
-
5
Be honest and straight forward when you try to get your man to talk about his feelings. Men don't respond well to metaphorical speech or hints. Just tell him exactly what you mean, and ask the precise questions that are on your mind.
-
6
Use humor to get your man to share his feelings. Men respond well to playful conversations more readily than serious and involved ones. Tell funny stories of your own, and wait for him to divulge stories of his own. Then you can ask questions about how those stories make him feel or how they affected him.
-
7
Laugh at his jokes. This goes back to letting him feel appreciated. If a guy hangs his hat on his humor, then he'll feel accepted by you when you show that you get his jokes and sense of humor.
