How to Romance a Girl With One Semester of Spanish

Everyone knows that Spanish is one of the most romantic languages, but what you might not know is that even the most basic of Spanish words and phrases can sound romantic. If you want to romance a girl using your very limited and rudimentary Spanish skills, the following steps can help.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use every Spanish word you know–even if it doesn't make sense in the context of romance. As we can learn from the video, "One Semester of Spanish Love Song," it's OK to use the Spanish words for "cat," library" and "happy birthday" to woo a girl, because anything in Spanish sounds romantic.

  2. Step 2

Compile basic Spanish phrases into an original song. The song doesn't need to be complex in its lyrics or even its melody as long as it has the kind of acoustic guitar accompaniment you might expect to hear in a small Mexican village or a romantic café in Spain.

  3. Step 3

Serenade a girl with your song. Ideally, you'll wear a buttoned-down shirt and hold a single rose while you sing, like the guy in "One Semester of Spanish Love Song."

  4. Step 4

Focus intently on the girl you're trying to romance. Latin lovers, such as Enrique Iglesias or Marc Anthony, focus intently on the girl they're trying to romance in their videos with a piercing gaze that seems to stare directly into their soul.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't pretend to have a high level of competency or fluency in Spanish. You'll run the risk of being exposed as a sham if the girl you're trying to romance knows more Spanish than you.
