How to Make Turkey Waldorf Salad

Things You'll Need
- 2 cups cooked turkey breast, shredded
- 1 apple, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 pear, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries or cherries
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp. freshly squeeze lemon juice
- 2 oz. blue cheese, crumbled
- 1 tbsp. tarragon
- 1 tbsp. fresh parsley, finely minced
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper

Place the shredded turkey, chopped pears, chopped apple, chopped walnuts and dried cranberries in a large mixing bowl and stir gently until the mixture is thoroughly blended.

Make the salad dressing by whisking the mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, tarragon and parsley together in a separate small bowl. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Add the salad dressing to the turkey mixture. Toss it until the turkey and fruits are coated.

Chill the turkey Waldorf salad in the refrigerator and sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on the salad just before serving.

Tips & Warnings
Vary the turkey Waldorf salad by adding almonds or pecans in place of walnuts.
Oregano, thyme or sage can be substituted for tarragon if you prefer.
Dried apricots can be used in place of dried cranberries or dried cherries, or you can use any combination.
